‘Suffolk Libraries’ (an Independent Provident Society) has been managing the county’s local library service for 5 years and still maintains 44 libraries, all managed professionally and supported by committed volunteers.

The library is not just about printed books. Suffolk Libraries provides a 24 hour on-line service and offers eBooks, eAudio and magazine downloads. We loan DVDs, offer free WiFi and public use of our computers.

The Friends Group represents not only Lavenham but the surrounding area, including Cockfield.

We give support and assistance to help maintain your library and we are proud of what has been achieved. But, as financial pressures increase (with a continually reducing amount of support from the County Council), there is more to do and we need your help.

The Lavenham Library Friends support the library by fundraising and by providing volunteer support for local activities. There are events for young and old alike and with more volunteer help we can do more.

Please come along, let us have your ideas and see how you can help us to support this important local facility. You can also hear about our plans for the Autumn with this a new Book Club for children aged 8 upwards.
