Cockfield Primary School is a church school that was founded in 1856 as a National School to meet the educational needs of the children of Cockfield. The school serves the immediate local villages of Cockfield, Thorpe Morieux, Bradfield Combust, Bradfield St Clare and Bradfield St George, but is open to all.   Due to the recent School Organisation Review the school now serves children of age 4-11, before they move into Secondary Education.

Our aim is to provide outstanding education to the children that attend our school, developing their confidence and skills so that they reach their full potential, both educationally and socially.  We do this through making their learning engaging and exciting, as well as challenging, within a small school environment.

As a school we are a community which cares for all its members; pupils, parents, carers, teachers, support staff and governors.  We also value our foundation in the Christian faith, and nurture our relationships with the local churches and community groups.  The headteacher is Mrs Trudie Harkin.  The school’s Governing Body is made up of 12 members, plus one associate governor.  The members are drawn from the school staff, parents, the Church and the wider community.
