Cockfield Community Cinema

Have you had a good laugh recently?  We are showing Finding Your Feet on Friday 27th July. Imelda Staunton, Timothy Spall, Celia Imrie and Joanna Lumley who star in this feel-good Brit-com about why it’s never too late to find true love. As always the doors open at 7.00 pm and the film starts at 7.30 pm, popcorn, sweets and ice creams are available in the interval and there is a licensed bar and teas and coffee are served. And the NEW SOUND SYSTEM will be in use!

What a success the 4th Annual Cockfield Art Show was, 700 visitors and £5,000 in sales have a look at the photos and we hope to see you next year.

The Village Show isn’t until the 9th September  but planning is well underway

Dave Doughnut is back with his Punch and Judy Show to entertain children of all ages, the strong among us can try the tug of war, Cockfield children will be dancing around the Maypole, there will be an array of stalls, vintage vehicles and the ever popular teas and cakes and an AMAZING GRAND RAFFLE . The full programme will be published next month but please keep Sunday 9th September free!

The Show Schedule is now published and we hope you will find a class to enter, there are some different ones this year and Back by Popular Demand is a Men Only one – come on chaps let’s see what you can do with a sausage!

Mamma Mia! This is the year of Abba and Cockfield  has their own ABBA tribute evening on 17th November. Please keep the date free – tickets are £15.00 each and will include a light supper, there will be a licensed bar. Tickets are on sale at the Post Office or from Janne on 01284 828264 .

The  Country & Western Evenings  will start again in September when Kenny Lee and Hustler are back on the 1st, Kenny is a real crowd pleaser and it will be an excellent evening’s entertainment.

Following on from Kenny Lee Kevin Barry will be entertaining us on the 15th – Kevin has a huge repertoire and is a true professional tickets are £6.00 on the door and there will be a licensed bar and the ever popular BBQ.

Waste paper collection

The next waste paper collection will be on Sundays 29th July, 26th August and 30th September. As usual, collections will start at 9.00 am. These collections are an important source of funds for the Community Council so please leave your papers out for the collectors. If you should find you have a lot of paper and card building up you don’t have to wait for the last Sunday in the month to off load it, paper and cardboard  can always be dropped off at the Dutch Barn at Cockfield Hall.
