Suffolk Village of the Year 2023

Parish Council February Meeting Report

The Parish Council met on Thursday 25th February 2016.

Our District Councillor, Clive Arthey provided a response to a question from a resident regarding the Gt Blakenham power from waste plant. He advised that the incinerator is currently operating 24 hours/day, 7 days/week and that it has only suffered one significant shutdown since coming on stream.

In response to a concern expressed by a resident to the issue of speeding in the 40 mph limit area between Mackenzie Place and the Horseshoes Inn, it was agreed that the Clerk should refer the matter to Suffolk Police.

It was reported that the refurbishment of the pavilion is now complete, with the exception of some external cosmetic work which will be completed when the weather permits.

The shelter on Gt Green is in need of decorative maintenance. A specification will be established and put out to tender.

There was an agreement that a roadside willow on Gt Green should be pollarded and tree work will be undertaken around the pond

The next Parish Council meeting will take place on Thursday 31st March 2016 at 7.30 pm.
