Suffolk Village of the Year 2023

Community Council News, May 2020

Community Council News – May 20

We are all aware of just how much has changed in our village and the country at large since the last edition of Green Links.

Nonetheless, the Community Council Trustees met by Videoconference shortly before Easter. At our meeting we had no option but to either cancel or postpone all our previously mentioned events for the next few months until further notice, though we do have a tentative date for the Swing Dance (originally scheduled for the 21 Mar) in October.

We have a further planned videoconference for 14 May when we will further review the position. We will of course always follow Government Guidelines as a minimum.

In the meantime we have discussed the possibilities around holding some several small scale Virtual events. At the time of writing (mid Apr) some options are being considered, but as ever any initiative is dependent upon volunteers to arrange, and host the video conference.

Virtual activities that we brainstormed included, coffee mornings, baking discussions, keep fit classes to name just three. If we are able to take any of these forward we will, please watch out for any developments on the village website and the Community Council Broadcasts.

We currently have approx 190 people signed up to the Broadcasts, this number has increased steadily throughout April. If you would like to register for these broadcasts, just follow the link in the footer of any page of the site.

In the meantime, to echo Her Majesty, we will meet again.
