Easter got off to an excellent start with the Duck Race at Earls Meadow on Easter Saturday what a fun morning that was, have a look at the report on page 32 And we hope you can join us next year.

The 4th Annual Cockfield Art Show will be here at the end of the month! Artists are still signing up daily to exhibit and their work is supplemented by pottery, glass, ceramics and a wealth of other arty bits and pieces. Please pop in and have a look and stay for a coffee or lunch. Entry is free, the Pop Up kitchen is fabulous and the art is unpretentious with something to suit all tastes and budgets!

The 4th Annual Cockfield Art Show is on in your village hall on Saturday, Sunday and Monday the 26th, 27th and 28th May.

The Village Show isn’t until the 9th September  but planning has already started, the Community Council is trying to give it a different feel this year. If you have any suggestions they would be pleased to hear from you.

The  ABBA tribute evening is on 17th November. Please keep the date free – more details of cost etc will be available soon.

There continues to be a full program of Country &Western Evenings and Cockfield Community Cinema.

Details of all our events will appear in Green Links, the Village website, www.Cockfield.org.uk and will be circulated through our Community Council e-mail distribution list. If you wish to be included on the list, which is an excellent source of information about local events, please apply through the website or by e-mail to janne@twerbs.co.uk

Waste paper collection

The next waste paper collection will be on Sundays 29th April, 27th May and 24th June  As usual, collections will start at 9.00 am. These collections are an important source of funds for the Community Council so please leave your papers out for the collectors. If you should find you have a lot of paper and card building up you don’t have to wait for the last Sunday in the month to off load it, paper and cardboard  can always be dropped off at the Dutch Barn at Cockfield Hall.

Please support your Community Council.
