Suffolk Village of the Year 2023

Community Council News December 2020

Your Community Council held its AGM at the end of November, it had to be on line which was a shame as we like to  get together with those members who attend for some social time after the business concludes, you can read Rodney’s Chairs report in Green Links this month and on the home page.

The Trustees hold their first meeting at the end of January when the programme for 2021 will be discussed, I think things will have to remain cut back for a few months yet but  we will see what can be done.

In the meantime the 2021 programme sets off with the Hangover Hike on New Year’s day, EVERYTHING PERMITTING, we will start from the Village Hall at 11 am for a 4 mile wander which should take about 1.5 hours with socially distanced groups of no more than 6. We hope to offer refreshments (bookable in advance) when you get back to the hall (served outside of course) but we have to be guided by the Rules in place come the 1st. Update: Due to the Tier 4 restrictions, regrettably the Hangover Hike is cancelled.

Looking forward to the New Year if anyone has any ideas for events, exhibitions, class etc. our Secretary Janne is always contactable on community.council@cockfield.org.uk. It’s your Community Council so please come forward.

Best wishes for 2021
