Suffolk Village of the Year 2023

Community Council November News

Cockfield Community Cinema is here!!!!!

After months of hard work by a team of trustees we’re pleased to be able to bring the latest films to Cockfield at a fraction of the cost of going into town to the cinema. Starting in January 2017 we plan to bring a film to the Village Hall on the 4th Friday of every month – we’ll open the doors at 7.00 pm and the show will start at 7.30 pm – there will be an interval during which ice creams and other refreshments will be available. We plan to select films which will entertain all sections of the community and our emphasis will be on fun for all the family. Our first show will be on Friday 27th January, tickets, on the door, will be £4.50 for adults and £3.00 for children and young people under 17 – you’ll see the films we’ve booked on our full page ad in this edition of Green Links.

Obviously, the success or failure of this venture is entirely dependent on you, the residents of Cockfield, so please support this latest Community Council initiative.

Country & Western evenings

On Saturday 3rd December we host Kenny Mayes and Friends for the last C & W dance of 2016. Tickets, as always, will be £6, on the door, and there will be a licensed bar and barbecue. Doors open at 7.30 pm.

After our Christmas break, we’re back on Saturday 4th February with Kevin Barry. Kevin needs no introduction as he has filled our hall on many occasions in the past and I’m sure all his fans will be pleased to welcome him back to Cockfield.

In March we have Budgie Colman and April we see the return of Declan Gaynor.

June has put together a really great line up for 2017 so come along and enjoy great music in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Carols on the Green

As always we will be collaborating with the churches in Cockfield to bring Carols on the Green to the village on Tuesday 20th December. Hopefully this year the weather will allow us to meet on the Green……….
