About the Community Council
COCKFIELD COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Registered Charity No 304872
Cockfield Community Council is a charitable organisation which raises
funds for mainly sporting and leisure activities for the benefit of Cockfield
residents.
Our activities include :-
- Running the Annual FUN DAY on the second Sunday in June each year
- Maintenance of the PAVILION in conjunction with the Parish Council
- Operating the 14 seater MINIBUS on behalf of local residents
- Running a musical event on Great Green, known as ‘The GIG ON THE GREEN’
- Providing assistance with ‘Carols on the Green’ at Christmas each year in conjunction with local churches.
- Running a monthly cash prize DRAW.
- Running an annual ‘GOLF DAY’ at a local course.
We also give donations to other organisations within the village e.g. CATEY,
Cockfield Computer Circle, Cockfield School, the Earls Meadow project etc.,
on an ad-hoc basis. We are not affiliated to any other organisation.
The funds necessary to operate our activities are raised by:-
- Monthly Country & Western Dances on the first Saturday of each month in the village hall
- Waste Paper collections from around the village at the end of each month
- Recycling grants from Babergh DC
- Profits from the Fun Day
- Various Barbeques
- Subscriptions from villagers
- Profits from running the minibus go towards its eventual replacement
The annual subscription is £3.00 and an additional £3.00 for taking part in the monthly Draw. We have a team of collectors who will collect subscriptions locally.
For more information, or if you would like to become a member, or make a donation or get involved, please email communitycouncil@cockfield.org.uk
Volunteer Collector Wanted
As you know, the Council’s Subscriptions & Draw fees are collected by voluntary collectors who call in all areas within Cockfield. This is usually done once or twice a year. We need a new collector in the Crowbrook/Mackenzie Place area.
Are you able to help??
It involves collecting money from 18 houses in that area, and delivering any monthly draw prize money to winners. If you would like to help by becoming a collector, please email communitycouncil@cockfield.org.uk
We would be most grateful for your help.
