Suffolk Village of the Year 2023

Appointment of Community Engagement Officer

Community Engagement Officer

In June, Suffolk Police created nine Community Engagement officers, covering all the policing sectors across Suffolk. I am one of these CEO’s and I cover the Sudbury and Haverhill sectors.

Our role is split into two main areas

Firstly:

To keep the Sudbury and Haverhill communities updated with what is happening in their areas. This will include updates of crimes that have occurred, appeals for assistance with incidents such as missing persons, suspicious activity and stolen property reports.

I will also be telling you what your local Police Officers, Special Constables, Cadets and Police Volunteers have been doing.

Secondly:

I want you to be able to tell me what’s happening in your area. There are so many non-profit making organizations, clubs and individuals who provide services to the community. I would like to promote these and be a source of information in your community. I plan to attend as many of these as I can and also the Fetes, Fairs and open days.

So how am I going to do this?

As I have said I plan to get out into our communities as much as possible. If you see me about please stop me and say hello. I have already attended several Fetes and Fairs and these were excellent opportunities to talk to you.

I am also using Social Media. Sudbury and Haverhill have their own Police Twitter accounts and we have recently created the Sudbury & Haverhill Police Facebook page. Please “Like, Share and Follow” these. They are fast and effective ways of getting information out to you.

You can email me on ceosudburyhaverhill@suffolk.pnn.police.uk

So when not to contact me:

In an emergency please call 999

If you wish to report an ongoing issue in your area please call 101 and ask to be put through to your local Safer Neighbourhood Team.

If you want an update on a crime previously reported please call 101 and asked to be put through to the investigating officer.

You can also report crimes and incidents through the Suffolk Constabulary website.
